The custom blinds we ordered from Home Depot for our bedroom came in yesterday. Brent, the oh-so-handy guy that he is, hung them up. There was lots of cheering because despite the curtains I hung up a couple months ago (over the existing paper-esque blinds let by the previous owner), lots of light still found its way in each morning. We were eager to test them out this morning. However, they may have worked TOO well because it was a lot more difficult than usual to drag ourselves out of bed. The darkness misled us to believe it was really 5 a.m. instead of 7:00...7:40....8 a.m. Let's just say that my office was lucky I came in at all today!
We were lucky when we bought our condo that it didn't really need any work. We slapped on a couple coats of paint in the bedrooms and voila! The blinds are probably the biggest "home improvement" project we've done. And it only took us a year to do it. Today is the one-year anniversary of our condo - the day our escrow closed. I can hardly believe it. I still get so excited when I come home, knowing that Brent and I own a little piece of Earth.
If you haven't seen pictures of our place, feel free to take a look here. (Scroll down to Nov. 21).
