We went to the gym tonight and I'm happy to report that I conquered my biggest fear, a machine that scared me like no other. My old trainer made me try it once last year and I thought my heart was going to explode and they'd have to clean up my remains on the treadmills in front of me and the basketball court behind me. Since then, I never looked at the machine directly for fear that it would take my out-of-shape soul. Tonight, though, as the treadmills and eliptical machines were occupid, I looked directly at the machine, hopped on, and tamed it like a wild stallion. 20 minutes and half a gallon of sweat later, I was glowing. If I'd had rope I would have hog tied it. I won the 29-story battle, but I may have lost the war because as I sit on my couch typing this, I....am...exhausted. Crazy Stair Stepper!

ooooh, I hate the stair stepper too. you have my sympathy.
ReplyDeleteYay for you! I always see people on that thing and wonder how crazy they must be to do that. It's quite scary if you ask me!
ReplyDeleteYikes! And I used to think the Cross Trainer was scary. That there is a machine it is guaranteed I would fall off.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. And don't give in! Keep showing that machine who is boss!
I could never do the stair stepper.
ReplyDeleteThe elliptical always scared me. Then I got on it. Then I learned how to balance stepping forward. Now I'm almost ready to go backwards without having to hold on.
Life is good.
Rock on with your bad self! Those stair steppers make me feel clumsy. And when I get off them, I always feel dizzy and out of sync.
ReplyDeletei'm afraid i have to stick with the treadmill.......perhaps, one day i'll graduate to the stepper. however, i don't see that day coming anytime soon.
