Jenn and I met up last night for dinner and a movie, Music and Lyrics. I was expecting a total cheesefest, which it was, but it was an entertaining cheesefest. Thankfully my dentist didn't detect the Skittles I had last night when I went in for my appointment this morning.
Anyone want to join me for an impromptu trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan? I need to visit this bakery for that cake - STAT!
And hello to all my blog lurkers! A few of you came out of the lurking closet via email recently to say hello, which is always nice.
Lastly, as I have no other way to contact her, feel free to ignore the following message to Twinkie, a fellow (now-temporarily-former) blogger. Dear Twinkie - I saw your comment. Sorry to hear that your MIL found your blog! I don't recall you posting anything negative about her...ohhhhhhh, wait. I remember now. Um, hope it all works out for you and you end up posting again soon! It wasn't that bad, and it wasn't untrue. You'll feel better now that you've got it all out in the open.
"Writers must fortify themselves with pride and egotism as best they can. The process is analogous to using sandbags and loose timbers to protect a house against flood. Writers are vulnerable creatures like anyone else. For what do they have in reality? Not sandbags, not timbers. Just a flimsy reputation and a name." - Brian W. Aldiss

Too cold to be in Michigan right now. ;) If the impromptu trip was in..say April? :p Even then, it's cold!
ReplyDeleteBF took me to a flick for V-Day.. we couldn't get together on the actual V-Day, so we went out the following Saturday and I picked Music & Lyrics.
ReplyDeleteThe opening bit mortified the poor guy. He laughed, groaned and whispered, "what'd you get me into?". I whispered back, "apparently 80's shlock".
He got over it though (the opening past 80s glory was exceedingly bad, I admit it) and laughed his ass off for the rest of it. I did, too.
I'll be forced to watch that Hugh Grant sapfest on video.
ReplyDeleteBut, like Notting Hill, I might like it.
