Last week a co-worker encouraged us to check out our Chinese horoscopes for fun to see what the Year of the Fire Pig had in store for us. I didn't have a chance to check mine until today, and now I'm a bit spooked.
I was born in the Year of the Snake (1977). And according to my forecast for this year, I'm screwed! Apparently snakes and pigs don't get along.
Nine of the 12 months are going to be "unfavorable." My career may be ok, although I'm "not likely to get the big promotion." This is also "not a good year for marriage." Health and wealth are also not looking good for me this year. Great. Juuuuuust great.
In actuality, I'm not that worried. The year is what I'll make of it. And I've lived a fortunate life thus far. I will, however, follow the advice to combat a potentially bad year -- Place an image or statue of an ox, rooster or monkey on your desk, so you'll have your supporters right there with you. I'll do that with one of these, although this might be a better, less horrifying alternative.

ReplyDeleteI'm a monkey! Apparently this year is a mixed year for me... but I'll most likely be plagued by illness and accidents. Whoo hoo! :) At least I'm "faster than the pig"! Actually, I have no idea what that means -maybe it means I'll outrun a pig in my car only to have it crash into something.

hello... i was born in 77 as well.. bt here is one this about this year: its supposed to be the year that the cycle closes (12 years- 12 signs) so basically this is the year we will be collecting from all that we planted in the last 12 years... apparently the saying goes: "as you sow, you shall weep"
