Friday we saw Pan's Labrinth. For whatever reason I thought it was a kid's movie, but I heard from a co-worker that it in fact was not, and was a good but gory flick. Brent and I both enjoyed it quite a bit, but I won't give too much away. My one-sentence description? Imagine that Amelie has a younger cousin in Spain, dealing with a mean stepfather.
Yesterday I went to a stamp party. Yes, a stamp party! It's like a Tupperwear party but with rubber stamps and card-making supplies instead. I didn't buy anything (yet), but I had a blast with the hands-on projects and visiting with some of my fabulous friends while nibbling on cupcakes and other edible delights.
Today Brent and I worked out, then swung by the new Pinkberry yogurt shop that opened dangerously close to our gym. We cooked a delicious dinner at home (steak and potatoes) and are currently waiting for a box mix version of raspberry bars to cool so we can enjoy them for dessert!
Did anyone see the Police reunion on the Grammy's tonight? Man, Sting is in AMAZING shape, compared to a man at any age! Like a fine wine he only gets better with age.
And thank you, Grammy Gods, for scheduling John Mayer's performance before my TiVo has to change channels.
"The more things change, the more they stay the same. I'm not sure who the first person was who said that. Probably Shakespeare. Or maybe Sting." - Ephram, Everwood

I'm waiting until later to watch the Grammy's...well, The Police only. Tomorrow they announce their reunion tour. I'm so excited!!!
ReplyDeleteYou went to a stamp party without me? That's it. You're on the list.
ReplyDeleteI definitely got the Amelie vibe from Pan's Labyrinth, too. Or at least, the same feeling of awe and wonderment, because it's really not like Amelie at all! Glad you enjoyed it, because I've been been hearing mixed reviews from peers.
ReplyDeleteSo that last comment was from me, Jen. I'm having trouble logging into two different Gmail accounts, and so if you click my name, it goes to nothing. Just wanted you to know!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't seen Pan's Labyrinth but I really want to.
ReplyDeleteLet me rant a bit about John Mayer. I love him. I do, but I hate the fact that he may or may not be dating Jessica Simpson. It seems like he should really be with someone, I don't know, less ditzy. I feel he could do better. What's your take on this?
Oh we went into Pan's thinking it was going to be something else. It's one of those movies you either like or don't like, there is no in between. For me I had my eyes closed through most of it *lol*.
ReplyDeleteAnd where is this Pinkberry? I have heard soooooooo many raves and I am still a Pinkberry virgin.
Thanks for the kind words on my blog! I love reading yours its so fun. :)
Yvett - I'm growing ok with John Mayer and Jessica Simpson because 1) she's hot, so I don't really blame him and 2) hopefully it won't last long. If it DOES last long, well, at least they'll have kids who can sing. ;)
ReplyDeletenb - I went to the Pinkberry in Marina Del Rey! Just opened on Tuesday. They have them all over LA, though, so you should bump into one eventually.
