I've been working my butt off this week. Seriously, heavy-duty legs weights and cardio on Sunday, heavy-duty arm weights and cardio on Monday, kickbox cardio last night (which showed me that I'm not pushing myself as much as I should during my own cardio), and a bunch of cardio tonight.
There are a few reasons I'm hitting it hardcore. In addition to trying to generally get in better shape, I have a weekend of good eating ahead of me. Shelby is visiting (YAY!!!!) Friday and Saturday and we have delicious meals lined up. While moderation is key, I still plan to partake in some yummy food.
Another reason I'm doing this is that I'm a bridesmaid in Stacie's wedding at the end of the month. This is the dress I'll be wearing. Cute, huh? Just a few weeks left to tighten (and loosen) things up a bit.
Good thing Shelby and I have massages planned for Friday because I've never needed one more. Strangely I don't mind being sore. It's a reminder of all my hard work and a reminder to keep it up because it seems to be doing something.
"The Japanese have this thing called shiatsu massage, where they dig into your body, very hard. And it is very painful. And apparently, some people throw up. But the next day they feel great. I’ve never had one. They sound awful." - Michael, The Office

I am so jealous!! I have tried to get to the gym everyday this week, but I haven't made it yet ... and I completely know what you mean about sore feeling good. I wanna get me some of that. Enjoy your massage. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous too! But more about the bridesmaid dress than anything. I'm a bridesmaid in my sister-in-law's wedding in 2 weeks, and she picked the worst dress for my body style that she could have. Of course, I'm 8 years older and a good 30 lbs heavier than the bride and her friends, but she swore to me that she would pick a dress that would look good on everyone. She lied. It is pale pink (not so bad - I just need a tan), empire waisted (not great for anyone over a small C-cup, I'm a DD), and of course, strapless (so no bra will ever work with it). And don't get me started on the shaper I have to wear to keep my post-baby body under control (OK, the kid is 2, but still!). The alterations to make the dress fit me have already surpassed the original cost of the dress. Yours is so nice - it had be at "bra-friendly straps"!
ReplyDeleteArgh - typo! It should have read "It had ME at bra-friendly straps"!
ReplyDeletethat's a cute dress! i picked one for my bridesmaids that looked good on me, which meant it would look good on all of them! i love feeling sore after working out too. it shows me i worked hard, and that feels good. how if i could just see it on the scale...
ReplyDeleteCute Blog!
ReplyDeleteI've been doing bicep curls. But without weight...just food. Gah! Have a blast this weekend!!!
