Everything's coming up roses

I was hoping to buy a baking pan similar to this one today at Bed Bath and Beyond, but they didn't have the one I had seen previously. Instead I bought this pan, and made these tonight!

Mmm...

Mini-rose bundt cakes

They're lemon with a lemon glaze. I've never worked with a glaze before, but it was fun and so easy. I hope to get better with more practice.

UPDATE: Ok, folks. By popular demand, here is the recipe for the cake. It's a family recipe passed down, generation to generation. I kid you not. And the glaze was simply 1/2 cup of powdered sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice until smooth.

  15. Oh dear god. How many times have I told you - box cake mix is what SATAN wants you to eat. You don't want to hang with Satan do you? I didn't think so.

  20. Ha ha! I love it. ;) I make a lemon cake that uses boxed cake mix with lemon jello and a few other "add-ins" with the same glaze you describe. It's always a huge hit and so easy!! :) I think it's all about the sweet/sour glaze. Very pretty!
