Another quick update from our Florence hotel. This hotel is awesome, by the way. Its called Hotel David and its near the Piazza Michaelangelo (for those of you familiar with this city.) Ill provide a link and more thorough review of this place later.
A few quick observations after visiting three cities thus far.
-Italian teens arent afraid of making out, especially on buses and trains. Wowee!
-Italian women (and some men) wear a lot of pashminas, specifically wrapped around their neck over and over and over again. I tried it with the one I brought, and it definitely provides a nice buffer between the top of the jacket and the bottom of ones chin.
- I figured out most of the buttons I need on this keyboard, with the exception of the apostrophe, hence my awful punctuation throughout.
- Rome was a ton of fun, filled with old stuff that I surprisingly found interesting. Im not big into history, but I couldnt help but be impressed by the work of my people. I told Brent, "My people did a lot of cool stuff and helped shape the world as we know it today. What did YOUR people do?" Hee, hee.
-Siena is a cute little town. It POURED on us, but we had fun cuddling under our umbrella while avoiding splashes from the nearby cars and mopeds.
-Siena also had the most AMAZING pastries. Panforte is our new favorite pastry, with the traditional Sienese cookies a close runner up.
My allergies are bugging me a bit, although I am not 100 percent convinced its not a cold. Boo...
But today we are off to a NY Times-recommended bakery just down the street from our hotel. Cant wait!
Love ya all!
