I'm still tired from my trip, so my trip recap will take the form of bullets tonight.
- Yes, as some of you guessed, it was at the La Quinta Resort. Ah-freakin-mazing!
- We each had huge rooms with huge balconies, huge bathrooms and lovely fireplaces.
- I have a ginormous, comfy and plush bed at home, but the resort's bed was phenomenal.
- I worked out three of the four days in the resort's gym on high-tech machines with personal televisions.
- I ate fairly sensible meals, given my options, and managed to come back a pound lighter. That happened at the other big work event I attended when I first started with the company. I'd like to make that a tradition.
- I met everyone I wanted to meet, especially authors I've been working with virtually for nearly two years.
- At Monday night's dinner, they hired a big cover band for entertainment. One of the singers was Deanna, a finalist from Rock Star:INXS.
- Tuesday night they shuttled all the event attendees to a bowling alley they rented out. I bowled a pretty good game (115-ish). And then I played some arcade Dance Dance Revolution with a co-worker while wearing my high-heeled boots. I thankfully did not break my ankle and did ok, if I do say so myself.
- After returning to LA on Wednesday afternoon, my boss gave us the afternoon off. I spent mine getting a much-needed facial at Dermalogica on Montana. My facial included a mini-massage on my shoulders, neck and arms. I love that place. I need to go more often. (You can see the Yelp review I did the first time I went here.)
