Notorious B.A.B.Y.

Things we learned about Em Dash today during a 4-D ultrasound

She has a cute button nose, nice full lips and as the U/S tech pointed out, "a super cute cupid's bow."
Big lips

She has chubby cheeks, not unlike Notorious B.I.G.
Chubby cheeks

She likes to smile and stick out her tongue to taste her amniotic fluid. Little did she know that the 4-D ultrasound would be followed with a trip to The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills, giving her plenty more deliciousness to taste.
Smiling

She's very contemplative. See her little hand on her chin? Ah, our little thinker.
Our little thinker

She's approximately 4 glorious lbs, putting her right on track for where she should be at this point.

The ultrasound place was out of paper to give us hard copies of the photos, and apparently they want to try to get us even BETTER photos of Em Dash, so I'm going back next week for a "do over," in addition to the awesomeness we've already seen. We're also getting a DVD of the session set to some of my favorite songs.

If you haven't already guessed, my heart is about to explode. Is it possible to fill it with even MORE love for our little one?

I don't usually comment here, but this is amazing! She is absolutely adorable! Congratulations!

Okay, so I'm going to lay it out there and say I think ultrasounds are creepy. Keep in mind I had more ultrasounds than I can count when I was pregnant with my little spud. So when I say that these are the least-creepy pictures ever, I mean that as a compliment. I mean...Nannette, little Em Dash is downright CUTE in these pictures!!! In that last picture? She is female Brent. WOW.

Freaking adorable. I don't think I've ever said that about an ultrasound - even my own daughter's!

Blogger Keely said ... (11:14 PM) :

It doesn't matter how many of these 4D's I see, I am always completely amazed and in awe getting to see such a great sneak peek at the little ones. She is lovely! :)

Makes me even more excited for our october 4D appt.

Blogger The Daily Randi said ... (11:39 PM) :

I think this is Cool. In a sort of Sci-Fi Way.

Except that it's Not Fi! It's All Sci!!!

And that's Creepy! Well, it would be if it weren't A Baby. Wouldn't it be Funny if they did The Ultrasound and found like, Your Lost House Keys and Stuff?

xoxo,
TDR

Blogger Vanessa said ... (12:21 AM) :

The technology is amazing to allow the 4D. She is absolutely darling! What a great way to start the weekend.

Blogger Chessie said ... (12:51 AM) :

She's beautiful! =)

Blogger Felicia said ... (8:16 AM) :

Those are some seriously adorable pinchable cheeks!

Blogger California Girl said ... (9:50 AM) :

Aw little Em-dash! Adorable! Those cheeks are seriously awesome!

Did you do the 4D at a ultrasound center, or does your doc have on in his practice?

Blogger Sugar and Ice said ... (10:25 AM) :

So fun! I'd love to do this, but I'm too cheap. I'll just have to stick with the 4D ones they did during my first trimester...which are just weird, lol.

Blogger Natalie said ... (11:02 AM) :

Wow, I didn't know that ultrasounds are so crazy detailed now. I can actually see a baby!

Best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy.

Blogger Leslie said ... (3:07 PM) :

Awwww, what a cute li'l Em Dash!

Blogger Suzel said ... (3:18 PM) :

I wonder if she's thinking in the last picture "Hmm, who are these people watching me? Could that be mommy and daddy?"

Great pictures and thanks for sharing!

Blogger the wifey said ... (3:30 PM) :

oh wow, i bet you had some tears of joy after seeing em dash like that! she is precious and i love her little lips!

Blogger Ashley said ... (5:34 PM) :

Aww, she's so cute! I'm predicting some major tears on my part whenever you make that video.

Blogger boneramafreak said ... (6:53 AM) :

She is so so so cute!!! Just wait until you see her and hold her in person...what you are feeling now will pale in comparison. :)

Blogger Winnie said ... (12:48 PM) :

Wow, this technology is truly amazing!

Blogger dapotato said ... (7:16 PM) :

these 4d things still amaze me.

OMG. those cheeks. so pinchable.

Blogger wan-nabe said ... (1:19 AM) :

okay, yeah. the "thinker" pose is AWESOME!

Blogger Emily said ... (9:43 AM) :

I had no idea they could get this kind of images - I'm still thinking of the grainy traditional ultrasounds, where only the parents and the doctor can make out a vague outline of a baby. These are so exciting! And sooo chubby-faced in that second photo, she's going to be adorable.

Blogger Kay said ... (9:56 AM) :

OMG, so much has happened since I last read my google reader. i must say em dash has great features =)

Blogger ke said ... (11:51 AM) :

That is truly the most magnificent thing I have ever seen! I didn't know they could DO that!!!

What an absolutely beautiful baby.

Blogger R said ... (12:05 PM) :

I'm still amazed at the 4-D ultra sounds. So much detail!

And yes, it's possible to fill yourself with even more love. Just wait until you meet her. :)

Blogger Julie Q said ... (6:16 PM) :

wow! that is like the coolest thing ever.

She's already as cute as a button!! I need to google this technology now (at least read the wikipedia on it)

Blogger Jen said ... (6:38 PM) :

Incredible!

Blogger La Petite Chic said ... (7:37 PM) :

Oh my goodness, how amazing is that?! Wow. I'm in awe of your little girl.

Congratulations! I'm a lurker comming out of hiding. I have to say, I got a bit teary eyes reading this post. I have a six year old daughter myself. It just reminded me of my experience with my pregnancy. Also, I love this: "I never thought through love we'd be making one as lovely as she.
