By the numbers

9 emails to respond to

10 thank-you notes to write

3 phone calls to make

786 blog posts to read in my Google Reader

5 (or more) blog posts to write

Too many errands to count

All of the above is certainly adding up, and I'm not sure how long the "new mom" excuse will be viable.

If anyone gives me any grief, though, I'll just point to:

1 very important baby.

  1. I think the baby pretty much trumps all, as it should.

  3. I know - I feel for you! I'm always behind and I'm not a new mommy! I forgive you. That precious baby of yours is more than enough excuse. :)

  8. I sympathize- and you've got your priorities straight :)

Just imagine what it's like when you have to work again! I'm so glad my head is screwed on, or it woulda been gone a long time ago!

  9. I feel the same way, yet I have no baby as an excuse. Lame-dash-oh on my part! I guess a new guinea pig doesn't quite cut it!!! I bet you are having lots more fun than you would be doing all of that other stuff anyway! I hear they grow fast so enjoy this time and before you know it, you'll get to attend to the more mundane things in life. We'll all still be here!

  10. I hate to break it to you, but it's the life of a mom-new or old! ;) Sure there will be times things are slower than others, but the balancing act has just begun. Hang in there! We'll all understand. :)

  12. Whenever I see a blogging frequency get fewer, there is usually a new boy/girl friend or baby involved. Not a problem - just life!

  13. Hi Nanette,

Just wanted to let you know, the "new mom excuse" is good for at least the first 6 months, or until the baby starts to sleep through the night, so you're excused! =)

  16. Yeah, that baby will (and should) be at the top of list pretty much forever. :) You're always a new mom, because babies and children change so fast, they're always new! So claim it even when she's 18. That'll be new one day, too.
