Answer me, part II

I promise that I'll get through all these questions eventually! I really do appreciate them!

What's next on your concert agenda/who would you like to see next? - From Jodi

It seemed like so many of my favorite artists hit LA in October, right before and after I had Em. I'm so sad to have missed Ray LaMontagne, so I'm hoping he'll make another appearance soon. I have been able to catch one great show since Em's arrival - John Mayer at the Nokia theater in Downtown LA. It was just him and his guitar. Simply fabulous.

I have 2 questions for you Nanners: Where did your friend get you those Hello Kitty cookie cutters? and where are your favorite places to shop for clothes? - From Sarah

My friend says this about the cookie cutters. "They're no longer online. I bought them back in Oct when I went to the Sanrio outlet in Gilroy. I was just there again this past weekend and they have no more. The sales girl told me they come out w/ new cookie cutters every year so hopefully they'll have a new set out soon."

As for my favorite places to shop for clothes, I love to shop the sales at Ann Taylor Loft and Banana Republic but haven't been there since before I got pregnant. However, I'd say most of my wardrobe these days is from Old Navy and Target.

Hmmmm.. Do you want more children? (aka was the birth not as scary as one boston blogger would think?!) - From Julie Q

Yup, we'd love to expand our family. But I won't say how many more or our timeline as my blog audience includes grandparents who might be on us if we don't keep to our word.

I'm going to be totally crude and I want the truth behind your labor and the pain! :-) Was labor what you thought it would be? - Mrs. Twink
Ha! Well, I didn't expect to go into labor two weeks early. I thought I had at least a week before Em decided to bust into the world. Labor itself was totally surreal and went by really quickly. I was also surprised by how quickly I lost all modesty.

Truth be told, I've never had menstrual cramps, so I wasn't used to any sort of pain like that. (Not that cramps probably feel anything like labor pain, but you know what I'm getting at.) That's probably why I was particularly surprised by the sensation of labor pains. After I got the epidural, which I totally recommend, it was more about the pressure of contractions than any pain. As for Em's actual physical entrance? Happened so quickly, and it was more than I could have ever imagined.

More questions and answers to come! In the meantime, I'll be hanging out with this little cutie.

My love

"Having once decided to achieve a certain task, achieve it at all costs of tedium and distaste. The gain in self-confidence of having accomplished a tiresome labor is immense." - Arnold Bennett

  8. I've been totally out of blog land for a while. Glad to re-enter it to a picture as cute as that of Em! :) I seem to remember my labor and delivery as slightly more traumatic than what you describe. I guess it's the luck of the draw, haha! Meanwhile, no one asked you about RECOVERY. Oy. That's its own monster. :)
