Today went well!
It's going to take me a few days to figure out a smooth morning routine to get us out the door on time, but I wasn't obscenely late and my boss was totally understanding.
Em had a little meltdown upon our arrival, which turned out to be because of a diaper blowout en route. I had to rush out, though, so as not to be blocked in the driveway by the next parent. So no long good-bye, which helped with no tears on my end.
The daycare provider called me around noon to check in. Em was doing well, other than a crying battle with her 7-month-old daycare pal during their morning naps. One would calm down and the other would get riled up. But they made up and it was smooth sailing during their afternoon naps.
Tomorrow I'm going to visit and feed her during lunch, as the daycare is just a few minutes from my office. I hope to do that at least twice a week, depending on my workload, until she's old enough to have separation anxiety.
Work went quickly for me today. I spent a lot of the day trying to remember passwords, where stuff is saved and getting reacquainted with my responsibilities. And my co-workers seemed excited to have me back. One mentioned that it had been so quiet while I was gone. He meant that in a good way. Heh.
My super thoughtful in-laws surprised me with a vase of flowers, accompanied by a note "signed" by Em that said, "We'll both be fine, Mommy!" So very sweet!
I'm uploading some videos for myself when I need an Em fix. Here's one of my recent favs.
She's the best little face to come home to.
