Em mobile

Em is officially a crawler.

And she's officially into everything.
Nom, nom, nom

Babyproofing is underway. I'm constantly on the floor, looking for the slightest bit of carpet fuzz or other randomness that Em may be tempted to put in her mouth. She also insists on crawling under the coffee table... and then sitting up!

It wasn't that long ago she taught herself how to get up to a sitting position. That wreaked havoc on her naps and some of her nighttime sleep as she'd sit up but wouldn't lay back down. She finally figured out how to lay down to sleep.

And in what seems like a minute later, she learned how to do this today:
Stand in the place where you live

It's exciting and simultaneously exhausting to see her world open up.

  1. Wow- Rex only learned how to do that in the last few weeks! I work with him to help him learn how to do new things but if he isn't interested, then you can forget it. The kid has his own schedule which seems to be on the slower side but that's just what it is going to be.

  2. I have a crystal clear memory of when my brother learned how to stand up in his crib. I shared a room with him when I went to my dad's, and he would just pull himself up, then rock back and forth and shake the crib. So cute.

  3. What a fun and exciting phase to be entering, but you're right, it is exhausting, too. I remember when my nephew learned to crawl and it was all hands on deck to keep him from grabbing for things. Now that he can walk, it's double the fun and double the work ;).

  5. Before you know it, she'll start walking and you'll have to put everything above 3 feet at home :-)

  7. Nefore you know it- she's not only walking, but RUNNING.

In my case though, they run in two diff directions (so consider that me telling you that you have it easy!)

SHE IS A MUSH- I want to eat her.

  9. Eeek! Life changes when they become mobile, that's for sure! I found it to be SO much better though because then Dahlia could get to what she wanted, instead of just being frustrated! Enjoy all her new tricks! :)

  11. So cute. Finn just barely learned sitting on his own... but now he cries because he can't figure out how to lay down. Look! They have so much in common! Perfect Prom Dates. :)
