Em-isms

I thought nothing could top walking into Em's room in the early a.m., bleary-eyed after shouts for "Mommy! MOMMY!," to be greeted with, "How are you?" Lately, though, she greets me with, "Are you tired?" I rub the sleep out of my eyes and tell her, "Yes. Mommy is very tired."

Em is really into her toddler friends and daycare pals these days. I ask her who she thinks we're seeing on any given day and she rattles off names. "Raffy??? Hallie??? Maya??? Maggie???" Maggie is her best friend at daycare. She's a month older than Em, and I noticed recently that they could almost be twins. Same height, same exact hair color, similar skin tones and features. They can't say good-bye without a couple hugs and sometimes a peck on the cheek, along with a few rounds of "Bye-bye, Em!"--"Bye-bye, Maggie!" Melts my heart every time.

As we walk back to my car after daycare pick-up, Em regularly asks, "Did you have a good day?" Uh, how sweet of you to ask!

  1. That is so cute that she asks "How are you?" in the morning! Rex is usually in too much of a hurry to just get out of bed and get going in the morning but he'll usually stop long enough to give me a kiss- if I ask.
