Oh, does that not happen to you?
Well, it happened to me last week when I clicked on Mandy's blog. I've been following her on Twitter for a while now, I suppose, but as is often the case with the hundreds of folks I *follow,* I hadn't bothered to read her site.
She's a fun & stylish mama with a super cute & sassy 2-year-old daughter named Harper. (Love, love, LOVE the name "Harper," btw!) As I
spent a half hour obsessing over casually perused her archives, I fell in love with her weekly feature -- Steppin' Out Saturday. In a nutshell, it's a look at what she and Harper are sporting during their Saturday adventures. And she invites anyone and everyone to join in the fun!
It's the perfect excuse for me to ensure that I'm somewhat pulled together at least once a week. It'll also hopefully inspire me to spice up my wardrobe a bit. Despite my tendencies, Old Navy yoga pants aren't fashion forward.
I tried to plan a last-minute date night with Brent for Saturday evening, but I was too last-minute to pull it off. We had a nice date day with Em, though. I somehow convinced Brent to join me at the mall on a quest for new fall/winter boots as I had gotten rid of mine last season.
As we stepped out the door, and after Brent had commented on how nice I looked, I threw my phone at him and said, "Quick! Take a pic of Em and I! It's for this thing! I'll explain later!"
I'm sure our pics will get better as we get the hang of this feature.
Dress, Baby Gap
Leggings, Target (Circo brand)
Bonus - Dora sunglasses, free in a packet of swim diapers we bought. She grabbed the glasses as we headed out the door
Sweater, Old Navy
Jeans, Old Navy
Shoes, TOMS wedges
Elephant Necklace, Forever 21
I did not find any boots during our excursion but did find some super cute ones via Target.com, which will likely make an appearance in future Steppin' Out posts.
(This post would've published on Saturday, but poor Mandy was having some site issues, and I wanted to link back to her.)
