To sleep, perchance to dream

The kid woke up at 4:30 a.m. this morning.

I wish I were kidding.

She did the same thing yesterday, but Brent brought her back to our bed, where she slept until 6:15.

This morning I vowed to leave her in her room, in the hopes that she'd eventually go back to sleep. She foiled my plans, though, when after a few minutes of half-ass crying (she really has a fake cry, which is different from her heartfelt cry), she busted out with, "Mommy! Diaper! Poo-poo!" I went to change her, and I asked if she was dirty. She replied, "Nope!... Mommy, are you tired?"

Here's what we managed to do today.

We colored.

We hung out in a bookstore.

We watched a fountain.

And we checked the tracking number for our Good Nite Lite.

Hoping that the Toddler Sleep Gods are more favorable tomorrow morning. I'm so over watching the sun rise.

Edited to add Sunday update: SHE SLEPT TILL SEVEN!

"There never was a child so lovely, but his mother was glad to get him asleep."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

  1. I love that Em tricked you into getting up!

  2. LOL I can already tell that Em is going to be as funny as you and Brent.

(though I'm sure it's not as funny at 4 AM)
