Steppin' Out Saturday (on Sunday) -- 3-27-11

On the fence

Shirt, Cotton On
Jeans, Tommy Hilfiger
Boots, Old Navy
Necklace, Forever 21 (I think?)
Earrings, Etsy (seller no longer in business, sadly)

Shirt & pants, Carters
Shoes, Payless
Hair bow, Target
Hello Kitty fan, a prize from Sanrio pop-up

This weekend's Steppin' Out post is from Sunday afternoon. I'm not too surprised that the overall best pic of the two of us shows me looking a little...worn out. Earlier in the day I took a bar method class via a Groupon. The last time I did a group fitness class? Actually, the last time I did any sort of strength training? Probably before I was pregnant.

My endurance isn't too bad, but I have zero flexibility or muscle strength. I was a hot mess during class, but the teacher was great and I know I worked hard. I'll definitely feel it tomorrow -- I'm already feeling it tonight.

Steppin' Out Saturday -- 3-19-11

This week I'm sharing not one but TWO Steppin' Out shoots. We didn't snap a good traditional pose, so if you add up the bits of pieces of the pics, you get the idea.

Saturday night we headed over to Josh and Jami's. My outfit wasn't anything special, but we took some fun pics before we left.

Sorry for the overexposure on this, but I like this pic regardless.

Sweater, GAP
Tank top, Old Navy
Jeans, Tommy Hilfiger
Shoes, TOMS wedges

Pants, Baby Gap
Shoes, Payless

I love her hair like that. They're ponytails that just haven't been pulled through all the way.

It's a little hard to tell, but I wore my hair wavy on Saturday. If I have the right cut (I don't at the moment) and I use the right products (I didn't), it's much more obvious.

On Sunday we dropped Em off at my in-laws' while Brent and I went to lunch and catch a film. I wore my hair up in a non-pulled-through bun. This is the closest we got to our usual poses because Em was too distracted by the rain.

Sweater, GAP outlet
Scarf, unknown
Tank top, Old Navy
Jeans, Old Navy
Rainboots, Target

Shirt & pants, Carters
Raincoat, Old Navy
Rainboots, Zulily

We coaxed Em into staying nearby with her favorite activity -- jumping.

Here we're counting to three, which we often do before we turn into jumping beans.

Em catches some air, and LOVES it.

There you have it!

Steppin' Out Saturday -- 3-12-11

Time to step out!

Shoes, Coach (via a random designer sample sale years ago)
Owl necklace, Forever 21
Bracelet, Gift

Top, Baby Gap
Jeggins, Target's Circo brand
Shoes, Payless

Em's shoes are the latest additions to her wardrobe. I had already decided to buy them, before I noticed that the hearts lit up! Em and I both squealed in delight. They also happen to be the first Disney Princess purchase I've made for her -- that train hasn't hit our house...yet. She knows that they are princesses, but she doesn't know any of their names or stories or get too excited to see them. Regardless, I thought the shoes were super cute, with or without the princesses on the soles. I've also never seen sandals that light up.

The shoes probably weren't the best choice for our Saturday playdate at a children's museum in Pasadena called Kidspace, given that half the exhibits are outside and water/dirt-centric, but we made it work.

Jenny, Pam, Lilcee, Kelly and I had talked about getting our kiddos together for months, so we were thrilled to finally make it a reality!

Anatomy of a photoshoot

Hey Em! Let's take some pictures! Come here!

Too close.

Stoic. Nice.

Smiley. Good.

OK, how about smiling without looking like you're about to attack something?

You're silly, kid.

Pretend you're holding a baby bird in your hand.

"C'mom, Mom! You're killing me!"
