She got down on the floor, doodled for a bit, and then proudly showed her artwork to him. "It's Mommy!" she proclaimed.
Having never seen her create a recognizable interpretation, Brent frantically yelled for me to come see what she'd done.
I was able to snap a pic before she shrugged off our enthusiastic reaction and erased it.
She drew ME -- a big ol' happy face! My heart exploded in pride.
Then a couple days later, after a few tantrums and timeouts, she announced another drawing of Mommy.
How quickly the mighty have fallen.
