Berry good Saturday

Strawberry-picking at Tanaka Farms may just be our latest family tradition. We went last year for Father's Day weekend, and we made the trek down there yesterday to meet up with Kim, Joe and their little gal.

It was the same set-up as last year -- a wagon ride through the farm's various fields, with stops to taste the fresh produce.

The tour's finale is 15 minutes in the fields to stuff yourselves silly and fill plastic boxes with some of the freshest strawberries you'll ever taste.

Em couldn't get enough of the berry goodness.

She was too enamored with the strawberries to stop and smile at the camera for us, but we made it work.

Kim and Joe enjoyed the excursion, too, even if it took their little gal a while to warm up to it.
Sweet family

After the tour, we picked up some goodies from the farm's stands, along with lunch.

The girls played amongst the plentiful bales of hay.

Good food, good times, good friends!

We might just have to make the trip down this fall for pumpkin season!

  1. So bummed we couldn't make it out there to join you guys! Just too hard to fit it all in. Looks like a lot of fun! We took Ro blueberry picking last summer, and I'm pretty sure we'll go again this year. The kidlets love that stuff -- as do the parents, of course. :)

  2. Looks like fun! She's the cutest and looks like she had a good time. One of my favorite memories from when I was little was strawberry picking, it's like a free for all, you get to pick and eat till your heart's content, hopefully she has all the coolest memories of it too.

  5. You are making me jealous- I can't wait to have things ready to eat around here. I took the boys to our Farmers Market this weekend and it was pathetic. Probably still going to be another month before there is anything around here to eat.
