Last night was the first of the eight-night celebration, so we lit the first candles on the menorah.
Em, we're going to light the candles...
FIRE!!! Ima just gonna stay over here, Daddy.
Light it up, but be careful not to set ablaze any of the million Christmas directions Mommy just *had* to have.
There you have it! Oh, wait! There's more!
How 'bout a little surprise to celebrate?
I'll close my eyes, Daddy!
A new book!
Hey, even Buddy is getting into the spirit.
Happy Hanukkah, everyone!

Nanette,
ReplyDeletePlease tell Brent and Buddy that the candles go in from the right to left, not the left to the right! Also, it is much safer to move the menorah to a kitchen table and light the candles there (much like Shabbat candles) so that you don't burn down the house!
Happy (Fire-Free) Hanukkah to all!
xoxo,
TDR
I feel like Brent should be in an armadillo costume. "The Holiday Armadillo" sharing the story of Hanukkah! You can invite Santa and Superman, too, if you want. ;)
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you're sharing both traditions with her. Love the tiny yamaka on Buddy's head. =)
ReplyDeleteI love when kids grow up in culturally diverse homes. Mike and I are pretty much the same in race, religion, ethnicity, upbringing. Gonna be pretty bland for our kids.
