Steppin' Out: Em's Easter Style

I went back and forth this year about whether I should buy Em a special Easter dress. Then I reminded myself that half, yes HALF, of her wardrobe is dresses, many of which she's only worn a handful of times even though she insists on dresses daily. She just has that many dresses. I'm a sucker for cute dresses, especially when I find adorable ones for next to nothing at Target and Old Navy. So I ultimately decided to pull from her existing collection.

Yesterday she had her usual Sunday soccer class, so we waited until after her non-nap to get her dolled up for Easter. I think naps are history now, although we can get her to lay quietly in her room for a half hour or so. I'll take it. It was enough time for the Easter Bunny to do his job in our front yard.

It was a bit of a scramble getting her dressed before I started to panic about hard boiled eggs, which we planned to eat at some point, sitting in our sunny front yard. We managed to pull a sweet ensemble together, though.

  8. Maybe Em has graduated to 'rest time'? I have friends whose kids do rest time in the afternoon for an hour - just kick back quietly in their rooms. Sometimes they sleep (if they're really tired) but usually they just read or play quietly. It's good for them to be able to entertain themselves for a while each day.

Also, Em is as adorable as usual. 8-]
