Bump Watch 2012, 14 Weeks

And so it begins -- Bump Watch 2012!

As some of you may recall, I did it throughout my pregnancy with Em.

I'm exactly 14 weeks today, and that's when I started my not-so-weekly belly pics with Em so here I am.

14 weeks
Boo ya!

To be clear, I had a bit of a gut before this pregnancy, but I was essentially the same size/weight as I was before Em's pregnancy. All that is to say -- I definitely feel like I look bigger this time around, even if Brent (and probably some of you) don't see it compared to this week last time.

I tried to talk Em into joining me in a pic or two, but she was having too much fun art directing with Brent. "No, Mommy. Step back a little bit. Turn your body. Yes! Right there!"

This is the closest we got.
14 weeks - with Em

She was showing me the pretend picture of me she took with her imaginary camera.

I'm officially in the 2nd trimester, or what as widely known as the Super Trimester because much of the 1st trimester annoying symptoms are supposed to ease up and you're feeling good as you're starting to show but not uncomfortably large yet. My nausea is completely gone, and the exhaustion has lifted. I'm still tempted to nap each day, but it doesn't take much of a pep talk to talk myself into doing something more productive instead, like laundry or a Property Brothers marathon. Don't judge.

Brent and I are obviously very excited, but I think Em might be looking forward to the baby even more. She'll tell anyone who'll listen that "Mommy has a baby in her tummy!" Her preschool teacher, her classmates' parents, her swim teachers -- they've all gotten earfuls of it. For a while she kept asking if we could take the baby out to breakfast. And she claims to know exactly what she's looking at when I've showed her our ultrasound pictures.

She's excited to take the baby for walks in what used to be her stroller, to give it a bath, help put on pajamas, to show it the "Cookie Monster wants to share cookies video!"

I hope her enthusiasm lasts once her sibling is actually here.

  1. Cute! I've been trying to take belly pictures with AM and it is not easy.

I think your belly looks rounder this time around. I can definitely tell you're pregnant (so I hope that didn't come off as me saying you look big). You look great!

  2. "Supposed to ease up" is the key phrase there. Someone didn't tell my body not to be so exhausted any more!

Congrats on second tri! And enjoy the Property Brothers, I know I do :)
