Well, hello there, third trimester exhaustion. You just snuck right in there and knocked me out, didn't ya? I'm back to daily naps. So long, energetic super second trimester.
I took my glucose test last week, and so far no news is still good news. I'll continue my dance to the Gestational Diabetes Gods, just in case. I had the orange flavor drink this time. I can safely say that after having tried the orange, fruit punch and lemon lime, the lemon is my least favorite while the other two are tied for first place, if there is such a thing on the "oh-my-goodness-this-is-so-sweet-especially-early-in-the-morning" category.
My belly, as you can see, is growing as it should. I have to remind myself not to use it to close kitchen drawers, and I've lost count of the number of times I've accidentally set off Em's fridge magnet playset with the belly. (Although tonight Em giggled and said, "I bet my sister loves that!")
I have a harder time putting on socks and shoes, and I've declared that we need to eat more dinners at our kitchen table because eating hunched over the coffee table is no longer comfortable.
Mimi is moving a ton, and her kicks and jabs are getting stronger. Today she kicked -- or maybe tickled -- the top of my belly and it made me jump off the couch, yelling, "Hey-oh, kid!"
As the weeks and months wind down before Mimi's arrival, we're focused on getting Em more independent. She knows how to get a lot of her own snacks, and we're making it more routine for her to clean up after herself, get herself dressed, etc. -- all the little things that will add up to a big help once her sister is here.
