With My People

There are no shortage of bloggers here in the Pacific Northwest. So many of them are stylish and so very kind and friendly, so I was excited to attend my second PNW Blogger Meet-Up last night, hosted by the adorable Chelsey, aka The Paper Mama.

It was an opportunity to get dolled up and sport one of my few maternity dresses, leftover from pregnancy with Em.

I wasn't sure how I'd do in heeled boots, particularly because I'm pregnant and not used to being in heels. However, the meet-up was held at downtown's West Elm home store, so I figured there'd be no shortage of seating should I need it.

I had met a bunch of the bloggers at the last meet-up in June, and I feel like I've known many of them for a long time as readers of their blogs, tweets, Facebook, Instagram, etc. And those I hadn't met until last night were quite pleasant, too.

Lovely ladies
Lindsey (she's beyond cute), Katherine (my mama-of-two-gals-4-years-apart mentor), me, and a gal whose blog I can't find at the moment. Doh!

Whenever we tweeted/Instagrammed with the event's hashtags, we were entered to win a bunch of prizes.

I fell head over heels for these wood chip holiday trees

And perhaps as a result of gushing over the above trees, I won this fun gift basket for local coffee favorite, Black Rock Coffee

It's always fun to meet other bloggers. When people ask what my blog is about, I explain that it's primarily a "mom blog" these days, but it really started off as a lifestyle blog, back in 2004. Then I got all nostalgic thinking about how my site has chronicled my life through our condo purchase, our engagement and wedding planning, our pregnancy with Em, our move to Portland and everything Em.

When I left for the event, Em asked where I was going and why she couldn't go. I told her it was just for mommies, and she replied, "What about Em-mies?" Then when she saw my event stamp on my hand this morning, she said, "That's like when I go to the Kid's Club at the gym!"

All the best things in life leave you hand-stamped, apparently.
