Wordless{ish} Wednesday: Playdate in Pics

Em has fallen head over heels with an indoor playground across town called PlayDate PDX, and it's definitely worth the drive.

Every day since our first visit, she's asked to go back, although she can't always remember the actual name.

"Mommy, let's go to PDX Playdate."

"I want to go to Play PDX."

"Can we go to PDX?"

"I'd like to go back to Play....Play....what's that place called? I want to go to there."

In this case, her wish was my command.

It's yet another Portland perk.

Pinteractive: Um....er....

Sigh.

Oh, Pinteractive.

Here's my big confession -- I haven't been on Pinterest much at all these days. I'm a Google Chrome girl, and Pinterest has been giving me trouble on that browser, requiring me to use Firefox. That's so 2010, folks.

Also? Pinterest is rife with spammers. I'll click on pins only to receive virus warnings or be taken to a spam site.  I've even re-pinned some of those myself, only to realize it after the fact.

As this relates to my weekly Pinteractive projects, I find myself scrambling Sundays, or worse, on Mondays, to find and complete a pin. There have been some Pinteractive fails that I haven't shared here because they were just disastrous. And not because the projects were faulty in and of themselves -- I was just in a rush to get anything done to share here.

Pair that with the lack of inspiration -- or pinsperation, heh -- and Pinteractive has started to become a chore.

I've really appreciated all of you who've followed through and shared your projects on your blogs and here with me. I'm not totally throwing in the towel yet, though. I'll include the link-up on this post, just in case, even though I'm a couple days behind schedule. I've been thinking about whether to continue this little brainchild, and I'll continue to think about it throughout the rest of this week and over this weekend.

We'll see what happens come next Monday.

Mother's Day in Pics

Untitled
My favorite breakfast sandwich -- pretzel bread, wilted arugula, maple-glazed pork belly and fried eggs -- from my favorite food cart.

Untitled
Indoor soccer class. Snickered at all the new parents who stuck around on the field and then later kicked off by the coaches. Not a parent-and-me class, folks. Realized they probably thought we were neglectful parents on our phones.

Untitled
On our way to my surprise gift -- Cirque Du Soleil's OVO!

The giant egg as we waited for OVO to begin. Then the usher informed me "no pics allowed." Oops.

Despite numerous pleas to take a nice pic with Mommy, this was the closest we could get from Em. After our busy but lovely day, she was exhausted.

Happy Mother's Day to all my mommy readers!

Pinteractive: Creamy Crock Pot Spaghetti

I busted out the crock pot today to try out this Creamy Crock Pot Spaghetti, which I first spotted when Angie pinned and blogged about it, and then again when Addy posted it for last week's Pinteractive.

Untitled
Trying to take appetizing pics of spaghetti in a crock pot with your iPhone is not easy, yo.

I followed directions as outlined, although I didn't have any chicken broth on hand. I thought I'd be ok without it, but then I saw that it was getting dry when it was almost time to serve it up. So I improvised with a can of chicken noodle soup sans the chicken and noodles. And it worked!

Overall, I thought it was a great recipe. Next time I might not cook it as long since it came out fairly mushy, but even mushy it tasted delicious. Even Em was a fan.

Your turn to link up if you got Pinteractive this week.

Friday Five: Hello Kitty corner

Like many gals, I have a special place in my heart for Hello Kitty. Em seems to have inherited my love for that cat, which makes our shopping adventures together even more fun. I always have a shopping buddy willing to hit up the Sanrio store, even if I spend most of my time repeating, "Don't touch that. No, don't touch that. Put it back."

Today's Friday Five features some Hello Kitty items I've been eyeing recently.

1. iPhone case

There are so many adorable HK cases to choose from. I just can't decide!

2. Jeweled earbuds

As if these weren't cute enough on their own, they went and added some bling. I think I may need these for the gym.

3. Bath wrap

When it eventually gets too warm to comfortably sport my plush bath robe, I think this bath wrap would be a nice alternative.

4. Hoodie

Looks like there are just a few of these left, which makes it all the more tempting!

5. Skull tee

I love the all the colors and the Mexican folk art theme.

I'm even more tempted to splurge on those last, too. WeLoveFineTees.com has offered me and my readers a 10% coupon code. Use WELOVEDEALS10 for the discount.

Hello Kitty forever!
